How do I join DECA?

Anytime before Winter break feel free to stop by one of our meetings! You don't need to have any previous experience and you don't need to let us know in advance. If you wish to join after we return to school in January, please email us or contact us through Facebook!

If I'm not a business major can I still join?

Absolutely! DECA has plenty of options for every Major/interest such as Sports, Fashion, and more. There are also many great opportunities through DECA that can benefit anyone.

I have no DECA experience, can I still compete?

Yes! We will be giving detailed information to members about each of the different categories, and before we leave for winter break we will have everyone choose their category. Then from January until competition we will spend our meetings teaching and preparing members for competition.

I did DECA in High School, how is Collegiate different?

High School DECA is a great preparation for collegiate DECA. The categories that you are able to compete in are slightly different in college, but the case studies stay the same. Collegiate level also has only two competitions, Regionals and Nationals.

How much are Membership dues and what are they for?

Membership Dues are currently $40.
This price includes both the National membership costs and the Washington State membership costs. These costs are paid directly to DECA Inc.

What will I gain outside of WSU from joining DECA?

DECA is a great resource to help you build professional skills such as: Proper handshakes, How to conduct an interview, building a resume, and more. DECA also provides you with a wide array of connections across the U.S and in other countries as well. This kind of networking is valuable when finding jobs and internships.
