President

Hi, I am Tessa the President this year. I’m a senior majoring in Accounting & MIS. I enjoy reading, running, and hiking! My favorite part about DECA is getting to meet new people!

Hi! I’m Emily, and I will be the Vice President of Community Outreach for DECA this year. I am currently a senior studying Microbiology, and this will be my fourth year in collegiate DECA. I’m super excited about all the great events we have planned for this year and can’t wait for our first competition! Go Cougs!

Alyssa Welton

VP of Fundraising & Finances

Hey, I’m Alyssa Welton, I’m a double major in Accounting and Entrepreneurship and a minor in German. I’m the VP of Fundraising and VP of Finance. I’ve been in DECA for 4 years and am very passionate about the club. I know tons about it and would love for it to grow. Please come and check it out for yourself!

Hi, I am Cameron, the VP of Advertising. I am currently in my Junior year majoring in MIS and Marketing. I enjoy hiking, food, snow skiing, and of course, DECA.

Hi! I’m Molly! I will be the Vice President of Social Media this year. I am currently a sophomore studying Accounting & MIS, and this will be my 6th year in DECA and second year in collegiate DECA. I hope to see you at the next meeting!

Michelle Snyder

Michelle Snyder has been serving the Carson College of Business since 2013, currently as Assistant Director of Development, connecting alumni, students, friends, and industry partners with the mission and initiatives of the Carson College. She previously worked as Associate Director of the Carson Center for Student Success and Culver Hospitality Relations Manager, helping students prepare for and engage with the professional world. Michelle is from Lacey, Washington, but has called Pullman home for the last 14 years, receiving two degrees from WSU: a BA in Hospitality Business Management and an MA in Education (Sport Management). In her free time, Michelle passionately follows Cougar sports, and enjoys cooking with her husband Shane and son Luke.

Mitch Swanger

Mitch Swanger joined WSU in September 2010, and is the Director of Admissions and Student Services for Graduate and Online Programs for the Carson College of Business. Mitch received his bachelor's degree in business and marketing education (minor: consumer economics) from the University of Idaho in 2008, and his masters degree in educational leadership from WSU in 2014. Prior to coming to WSU, he was a marketing teacher and DECA advisor at Lewiston High School. Mitch won the Outstanding Service Staff award for the college in 2015

Tony Thompson

Tony Thompson is a lifelong Coug. He was a three-year letterwinner for the WSU football team and has a passion for student engagement and helping students grow personally and professionally.
